Brendan Straw, Country Manager for ShopFully Australia, said: “This Easter, Australian shoppers seem to be on the lookout for a gift that won’t melt.
“Top gifts for children include fan favourite, the Easter accessory, with bunny ears and baskets appearing in many family homes. As revealed by 41.2% of respondents, clothes and pyjamas are big for the little ones this season, Easter themed or not. Craft kits and books are also trending, perhaps hoping to encourage kids off technology for the long weekend.
“Adults aren’t missing out, with many set to receive hampers, gift vouchers/experience gifts, and even home décor to mark the occasion. For last-minute shoppers, alcohol is always a convenient option, as are indoor plants, both readily available at major supermarkets.
“Keen to stay on a budget, the majority of respondents told us they’ll be more cautious of their spending due to rising cost pressures with 65% looking to keep spending to $100 or less. When tightening the purse strings, shoppers should always compare prices before committing to purchase to ensure they’re getting the lowest price.
“For those looking for inspiration, catalogues are a great way to spark a unique gift idea for loved ones, not to mention an opportunity to make the most of hot deals on offer from retailers and brands.”
